Does My Kia Come With a Spare Tire?

Closeup of Kia Telluride front tire

In years past, almost every vehicle came standard with a spare tire. Today, increased focus on fuel economy and trunk space has all but eliminated this feature, replacing it with a tire repair kit. While your new Kia doesn’t come with a spare tire, it does include the Kia Tire Mobility Kit (TMK), a package of tools designed to help you should you find yourself with a flat tire on your Kia. If you have questions or need new tires, contact the service center at Kia Delray.

What is a Tire Repair Kit?

A tire repair kit includes the essential tools and equipment needed to temporarily repair your flat tire, allowing you to safely get to your nearest Boynton Beach Kia dealership for a full repair or new tire. Tire repair kits help reduce your vehicle’s weight and increase available trunk space while still giving you a safe option should you experience a flat tire. Like many auto manufacturers, Kia stopped supplying spare tires in 2008 and introduced the Kia Tire Mobility Kit.

Inside your Kia Tire Mobility Kit, you’ll find:

  • Tire gauge
  • Necessary cables and hoses
  • Tire sealant
  • Filling hose
  • Compressor

While this kit provides the materials needed for a quick tire patch, it’s not intended as a permanent fix. You’ll still need to schedule service for professional repair in our service center, conveniently located near West Palm Beach.

How to Use the Kia Tire Repair Kit

If you’re experiencing a flat tire or tire leak or damage, take the following steps:

  1. Review your owner’s manual.
  2. Locate your tire repair kit located in the trunk under the floorboard.
  3. Attach the inflator hose to the tire valve stem.
  4. Turn on the unit to inject sealant into your tire.
  5. Use the compressor to inflate the tire.
  6. Once your Kia is driveable, make your way to Kia Delray for service.

Can I Get a Spare Tire for My Kia?

If you prefer the peace of mind of a traditional Kia spare tire over a Kia repair kit, you can opt for a Kia Spare Tire Kit, which includes a tire jack. For cost details or to place an order for this available accessory, contact our parts department.
