Kia Lane Keeping Assist Explained

Kia Lane Keeping Assist display

Kia Lane Keeping Assist uses a front window camera to detect whether or not you’re driving within your lane on Boca Raton streets. If you stray from your lane, it will use visual and audio cues to alert you, so you can correct your steering. Read on to learn more about how Kia Lane Keeping Assist works. Then fill out a pre-approval and take a closer look at Kia safety technologies with some test drives at our Delray Beach Kia dealership!

How Kia Lane Keeping Assist Works

When Lane Keep Assist is on, an indicator in your instrument cluster for Lane Keeping Assist will turn white. It will remain white when it doesn’t detect lane markers on whatever road you’re on or if you’re driving under 40 mph. If you’re going faster or the road has lane markers, it will turn green. You can customize this feature to alert you in a number of different ways. Some alerts are less imposing, and the others will definitely keep you on your toes.

Different Lane Keeping Assist Alert Modes

  • Active Lane Keeping Assist: In this setting, LKA will provide frequent feedback to help correct steering and prevent lane drift.
  • Standard Lane Keeping Assist: Standard mode only kicks in when you are about to depart from a lane without using your turning signal.
  • Lane Departure Warning: When the system detects that you’re about to leave your lane in this mode, it will use haptic, visual, and audio cues to alert you.
  • Off: You can turn the Kia Lane Keeping Assist system off anytime you like.

Which Models Have Kia Lane Keeping Assist?

Boynton Beach drivers will find this feature on a number of trims available for certain 2021 Kia models, including the Telluride, K5, Seltos, Forte, Stinger, and Sportage.
