What's Covered in the Kia K5 Warranty?

2024 Kia K5

The Kia warranty is here to give you peace of mind as you hit the road. Kia Delray is proud to tell you that the Kia powertrain warranty is one of the most generous you can find. With 10 years or 100,000 miles of coverage, you’ve got a lot of fun ahead of you in Boca Raton or wherever life takes you.

Kia Delray has a guide to the Kia factory warranty and other relevant details so you can put your mind at ease as you shop. For both routine maintenance and unexpected repairs, our Kia-certified service technicians have you covered.

Kia Basic Warranty

The basic Kia Warranty covers your K5 for 5 years or 60,000 miles after purchasing, whichever comes first. This covers everything except wear and tear damage and maintenance. To check on all the parts the basic Kia K5 warranty includes, read your K5 owner’s manual for all the updated information for your specific model year and trim.

Kia Powertrain Warranty

The Kia powertrain warranty lasts 10 years/100,000 miles after the Kia basic warranty expires, giving you exceptional coverage on critical components to keep you moving on the Boynton Beach roads. As with the basic warranty, the Kia powertrain warranty doesn’t cover wear and maintenance. However, it does cover:

  • Engine: Cylinder block, cylinder head and all internal parts, timing gear, seals and gaskets, valve cover, oil pump, water pump, flywheel, and turbocharger
  • Transaxle: Transmission case and all internal parts, torque converter, drive shafts, bearings, seals, gaskets, front hubs, and universal joints
  • Axle: Axle shafts and C-V joints (couplings), seals, and hub and wheel bearings
  • Transmission: Transmission case, seals, gaskets, torque converter, all internal parts, and transfer case
  • Differentials: Front and rear differential assemblies, cases, all internal parts, seals, and gaskets
  • Propeller Shafts: Universal joints and drive shafts

Is the Kia Warranty Transferable?

If you’re interested in owning a certified pre-owned Kia K5, you’ll likely wonder: is the Kia warranty transferable? While not all warranties are directly transferable, drivers will still receive the remainder of the basic, anti-perforation, and roadside assistance warranties as well as a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty that starts from the first in-service date of the vehicle. In addition, West Palm Beach drivers will receive an additional 1-year/12,000-mile Platinum Coverage plan.
